Lynxmoor Capital, a small-business funding service in Alexandria, LA, offers this dental practice loan calculator for Rapides Parish practices. Enter a loan amount, an annual rate and a term in months to see the monthly payment, the total interest and the total repaid. It does not estimate approval, rates or what a partner will offer.
What the calculator returns, and nothing else
- Monthly payment, assuming the loan fully amortizes
- Total interest, summed over the whole term
- Total repaid, which is the amount borrowed with the interest added
It uses the standard amortization formula and assumes equal monthly payments and a fixed rate. It does not include down payments, closing costs, prepayment terms or anything a real offer might add.
Dental business loan calculator inputs
Amount
The amount you would finance for a chair, imaging unit, build-out or other practice cost.
Annual rate
Use the rate from an actual written offer. Lynxmoor does not publish or suggest rates; a guessed rate gives a guessed answer.
Term in months
The repayment period in the offer. Try two terms side by side to see how total interest changes.
Dental equipment loan or build-out?
Equipment such as chairs, sensors and imaging is usually financed against the equipment through equipment financing. A build-out with plumbing, electrical and cabinetry often suits a business term loan. You can run each through the calculator separately.
If an equipment offer includes a down payment, subtract it from the amount yourself before entering it; the loan widget does not model it.
Business loan for a dental office: what the numbers do not show
- Whether a partner will offer that amount, rate or term
- Collateral or personal guarantees
- What early payoff costs or saves
Practice-specific funding questions are covered on dental practice funding. Other checklists, and the rest of the tools, sit on the guides page.
Using the calculator to compare two offers
Run each offer's amount, rate and term separately and note the total repaid. If one offer has a shorter term and higher payment, the total repaid usually tells you which costs less overall. Then check what the calculator leaves out: collateral, guarantees and prepayment terms in each written offer.
Before you type in a number
Gather the written offer first. The amount, the annual rate and the term in months all come from it. If the partner quoted a weekly payment, convert the term to months yourself before comparing, since the widget works in monthly payments only.
